INITIAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
Napa and Sonoma Select Wineries
The majority of wine producers that will be marketed are the smaller and lesser-known wineries that often do not own and operate their own production facilities. General they fall under the CABC license designations of type 17 or 20. For such wineries, they are NOT ALLOWED to pour directly to the consumer but can pour samples to the trade and they can be licensed to sell wine electronically by Internet. They can only provide their wine as a free donation to charity but only if it is a qualified non-profit organization.
We suggest conducting a number of "For Trade Only" and "For Wine Enthusiasts" tastings throughout various locations independently for Napa Select Wineries (NSW) and Sonoma Select Wineries (SSW). The first events has been tentatively titled as shown below:
"First Annual NSW Winter Expressions," is planned for the Napa Elks Lodge on ___________ 200_.
"First Annual SSW Winter Expressions," is planned for the Petaluma Elks Lodge on ___________ 200_.
These single day events will be divided into two grouping; one half of the main hall will be designated "For Trade Only," and the other half will be open to all "Wine Enthusiasts" at a fee of $____ each.
Wineries
NSW and SSW members will have first rights of refusal to be a participant in their respective "For Trade Only" rooms. Display space is available to paid-up members at $_______ per space. Should there be any winery-designated display spaces remaining, they will be made available, by invitation, to other respective county wineries on a "first pay" basis at the rate of $____ per space. This inaugural event is limited to ___ wineries.
Wineries with the type 02 license will be pouring in the "For Wine Enthusiasts" area and if they so elect, can also rent space in the "For Trade Only" area if any space remains available.
Wineries with type 17 and/or 20 license will only be pouring in the "For Trade Only" area. In both rooms, staff members will be conducting live interviews with the representatives of the attending wineries which will be seen "live" on the Internet and on closed-circuit television throughout the event spaces. Consumers can then e-mail their questions, orders, etc. to the staff manning the internet site who will then communicate the received message to the appropriate vendor. [ To the best of our knowledge, this approach has never been undertaken before -- in other words, it would be a first!]
Non-winery vendors
Non-winery vendors representing lodging, restaurant and entertainment businesses will be charged display space at the rate of $______ per space. This inaugural event is limited to ___ such businesses. Spaces will be available on a "first pay basis."
